Autumn in Chicago

Apple picking.  Pumpkin patches.  Seasonal beverages.   Foliage hue transformation.  Homecomings.  Though other seasons have their own special identity  – spring with its new beginnings, summer its beautiful weather that allow endless beach days and vacations, winter with its family holidays and snow days – autumn has always and continues to be my favorite season.

We are thoroughly enjoying living in a city with four seasons, although non-residents allow their imaginations to believe Chicagoans reside in perpetual winter.  Here are just a few shots we took while running errands.

What do you enjoy about autumn?  What’s your favorite season?

  1. Wait, there are 4 seasons in Chicago?!?! I might have to re-think my position on visits and possible relocation. The colors are gorgeous!

    • I was pleasantly surprised to learn that and experience it too! I expected a swift transition from a beautiful summer to blizzards. Not so. Chicago has shown itself to be a city that embraces each season. We were lucky to move last year and experience a relatively mild winter. Fingers crossed for the same this year.
