In this social media age, we are inundated with quotes often misattributed to various persons. While recently touring the Central High School National Historic Site, I was struck by a quote by Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce (Native American “tribe”). A simple quote stated in the late 1800s that has yet to find its fulfillment:
The earth is the mother of all people,
and all people should have equal rights upon it.
What do you think of this quote? How do we work to make it reality?
