Former Grambling State University football coach Eddie Robinson has reclaimed his title of Winningest Division I NCAA Football Coach. Coach Rob lead the Tigers to 408 wins during his 57-year tenure at Grambling with more than 80% of the approximately 4,000 young men who matriculated through his football program earning college degrees. Son of a sharecropper and a domestic worker, Robinson coached hundreds of young men who transitioned to play in the NFL, including SuperBowl XXII MVP Doug Williams. In 1966, the Football Writers Association of America name Eddie Robinson The Coach Who Made the Biggest Contribution to College Football in the Past 25 Years.
Did I mention he was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated?
